Business Valuation
Developing a sound and defensible business valuation report
An accurate, well-presented business valuation is a critical component of business and estate planning. At Trinity Advisory Group, LLC, we have a unique understanding of the importance that a sound and defensible valuation report can play in connection with various financial transactions, including:
- Gifting equity interests in non-publicly traded businesses
- Determining the value of a closely held business interest upon the death of an owner
- Bank financing initiatives
- Awarding equity grants to employees
- Determining a reasonable price at which a business might be purchased or sold.
Scott G. Burns, CFA, CVA

Let's talk.
Since 2009, Trinity Advisory Group has been providing quality business valuations to clients in a wide variety of industries at locations throughout the country. As a Wisconsin-based company, our principal office is in Mequon, WI and we maintain a satellite meeting location in St. Petersburg, Florida; however, we do not limit ourselves to projects located only in Wisconsin and Florida.
Services we don't provide:
Given the scope of the services that Trinity Advisory Group provides, our clients have at times requested the following services, which we don't provide:
- Real estate appraisals - We are not licensed real estate appraisers and do not provide real estate appraisal services, although we often work with professionals who do perform real estate appraisals as part of our business valuation work.
- Accounting, auditing or tax preparation services - We do not provide tax preparation or review services, and do not audit accounting or financial statements prepared by others.
- Legal services or representation - Although our analysts may have legal backgrounds and may have obtained law degrees, Trinity Advisory Group is not a law firm and does not provide legal services or legal representation (although Mr. Burns does maintain a separate, independent law practice, Burns Law Offices, which you can learn about here).
We do maintain an active network of professionals who do provide the services above. We are happy to provide our clients with referrals to professionals with whom we are familiar and who, in our opinion, do quality work.
